“Sacred Path”

As a vital part of the Stroud community, The Sac & Fox Nation commissioned this mural titled Sacred Path.

Designed and painted by Sac & Fox and Shawnee tribal member Nick Blanchard, this mural highlights a mix of Sac &Fox history with Route 66 history.

Featuring the Sac and Fox Seal, Jim Thorpe (Famous Olympic Athlete), Chief Black Hawk (famous Sauk leader who led resistance against forced relocation in the 1832 Black Hawk War), a 1957 Chevy Bel Air, the iconic Chevrolet Bowtie, the Route 66 road with rolling hills, and an Oklahoma sunset.
