About the Airport
In 1931, the Civil Aeronautics Administration leased 90 acres of land from the land owner to establish an emergency landing field for military pilots to use on training flights. It was later abandoned and the CAA turned the land over to the City of Stroud. This was the beginning of Stroud Municipal Airport.
