Voting Locations

There are two voting locations in Stroud.
North

First Christian Church (Fellowship Hall)

Municipal Elections

Municipal elections for the position of City Council are generally held on odd-numbered years.

Qualification for Candidates

  • Must be a resident of City of Stroud and registered voter in the municipality for at least six months prior to being elected.
  • Must be a resident of the ward from which they are elected at the time of election. Council at large position may reside at any of the four wards.

Councilmember Term Length

The terms of the council members are staggered so that at any one general municipal election, the following council members are to be elected for four year terms:

  • Council members from wards one and two

At the next general municipal election, the following officers are to be elected for four year terms:

  • Council member from wards three and four
  • The council member at large

The terms of the elected officials shall begin at 12:00 pm on the second Monday following the general municipal election, and such official shall serve until his successor is elected and qualified.

Campaign Report Forms

Campaign report forms and manuals can be obtained from the Oklahoma Ethics Commission. All forms for local elections are to be filed with the city clerk.
